Young children will find this activity appropriately challenging, but even older children will have to do some hunting to find words in their book that begin with X…
You will need some paper, a pencil, and a favourite book. (You can use any book, but it helps if it is a book you already enjoy.)
Write the letters of the alphabet (from A to Z) down one side of a piece of paper. You may need more than one sheet of paper.
Find words from your book that start with each different letter of the alphabet. Write them next to the letters on your paper.
How many did you find? Which letters were the hardest to find?
